THE HOLIDAY HUB: FREE PROGRAMMING FOR FAMILIES & THE MAKER’S SHOW FEATURING BROOKLYN MADE & 60+ CREATIVES
City Point, located in Downtown Brooklyn at 445 Albee Sq West, announces the Holiday Hub, a pop-up experience co-hosted by Mommy Poppins and Brooklyn Bridge Parents, where families can make holiday memories. Three weekends of free programming geared to children ages 1-10 will include Elfie Selfies, Menorah Making, Santa Portraits, cookie decorating, holiday crafts, and more. Located on the first floor of City Point, the Holiday Hub will be open Saturdays and Sundays, December 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17 from 11 am to 3 pm.
Holiday ’23 at City Point also marks the return of The Makers Show (TMS), a pop-up platform which connects small businesses and creative makers with vibrant local communities. This year, the seasonal market will expand to two new studios and pop-up along the pine archways of the main corridor, home to McNally Jackson, Lululemon, which are adjacent to Primark. TMS will bring back New York-favorites and introduce a new selection of artists and crafters. From local farmers to handmade potters to international artisans to sock designers, TMS has a selection of gifts, designs, and collectibles for people, pets, and their homes. In keeping with the TMS borough pride, this year’s roster includes Brooklyn Made, an outpost of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce’s shop, which represents local designers, creatives, and entrepreneurs. Highlights of the Holiday Hub @ City Point: FREE FUN for the entire FAMILY:
Santa Studios x Family Photos: Take home holiday memories! Our in-house shutterbug will photograph kids with Santa in front of an Instagram-ready backdrop. Each family will receive one free digital print with the option to purchase additional photos and holiday card packages. Space is limited: first come, first served.
Menorah Making: Children can participate in making a menorah and take it home for celebrating the eight nights of Hanukkah.
Ornament Making: Kids have an opportunity to create one-of-a-kind ornaments to gift or hang on the Christmas tree.
Cookie Decorating: Gingerbread men, dreidels, and snowflakes have never been more delicious! Free cookie decorating will take place in Sixpoint Brewery on Sundays from 11 am to 1 pm.
The Makers Show Highlights & Hours:
Over 60 small businesses and creators will present their wares over 4 three-day weekends, kicking off on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday and continuing through December. This dynamic marketplace is the place to find unique gift items, handmade crafts, and innovative designs while supporting emerging talent and entrepreneurs. The Makers Show curators will not disappoint with an eclectic lineup including Grateful GemHead, an immersion in gems, minerals, and crystals, Love Set Match, a premium collection of tennis clothes for girls, Moonchild Slipper Socks from Anatolia, Cosmos Pottery’s playful handcrafted ceramics and so much more.
