Still, time for parents to register their kids for the YMCA of Greater New York’s final summer camp session, which runs August 14-25.
YMCA’s summer camp provides exciting programming for children, including aquatics training, themed days, games, songs, and field trips. Field trips include visits to sites like the New York Museum of Natural History, Gateway National Park, the zoo, movies, roller skating, and more. (Activities vary among branches.)
Children are also immersed in a social-emotional learning environment within their daily camp activities, which infuses developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that enhance students’ abilities to successfully learn, work and play together. Social emotional learning is built around five themes: Diversity & Inclusion, Empathy & Critical Thinking, Communication, Problem Solving, and Peer Relationships.
With summer winding down and the start of a new school year around the corner, the YMCA’s final summer camp session will provide kids of various ages with a great way to end their summer vacation on a high note.
