Participants will Virtually Meet with Holocaust Survivors and Create Theater Performances Inspired by the Conversations
Holocaust Museum LA, in partnership with the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents “Voices of History,” a unique summer theater workshop July 12-July 27, 2021 for students in 7th-12th grades. The workshop will meet each day from 9 am-noon virtually, with the possibility of a hybrid program.
“Voices of History” unites students with Holocaust survivors, who share their personal stories. Working with theater mentors, the students write, direct, and act in scenes inspired by the survivors’ experiences. The production will teach students Holocaust history, the power of perseverance, the danger of hateful rhetoric, and the importance of acceptance and tolerance.
The final production on July 27 will be virtual and produced by the Wallis.
No prior acting or theater knowledge is required, Tuition is $150.00 with full scholarships available.
