Join NYC Parks this fall to enjoy the season across our parks and recreation spaces! Whether you’re looking to explore New York City’s natural and cultural history, get creative with seasonal arts and crafts, get spooked by a haunted house, enjoy a movie under the stars, celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, or take part in community events, NYC Parks has something for everyone. We look forward to seeing you out in our parks!

September:  

Tango In The Park – Manhattan  
Wednesday September 23 | Sutton Place Park  

6:00pm–7:30pm 

Step into the rhythm of Buenos Aires right here in New York City! NYC Parks and Council Member Julie Menin invite you to experience the passion and elegance of Tango with Strictly Tango NYC Dance School. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a complete beginner, this is your chance to learn from the best in an inviting, no-pressure environment. This event will also repeat on September 30th.

The Great Skate Off — Bronx 

Friday, September 25th | Taylor Playground  

3:00pm–6:00pm  

Join NYC Parks for a skate party at Taylor Playground! Come out and enjoy an afternoon of music, dancing and skating. Skates will be provided while supplies last or feel free to bring your own. This event is free and open to the public. 

October:  

46th Annual GreenThumb Harvest Fair—Brooklyn  

Saturday, October 3rd | Herbert Von King Park 

12:00pm–4:00pm  

Join NYC Parks GreenThumb and GreenThumb community gardeners in celebrating the start of fall with workshops, live entertainment, healthy cooking demonstrations, and more! 

Ft. Totten Fall Festival — Queens 

Saturday, October 3rd | Ft. Totten Parade Grounds 

1:00pm–4:00pm  

All are invited to join NYC Parks for a fall festival event. Join us for an afternoon of family games, potato sack races, live music, pumpkin picking and more! This event is free and open to the public. 

Ocean Breeze Fall Festival – Staten Island  

Saturday, October 24, 2026 | Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex   

10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. 

Join us for one of Ocean Breeze’s favorite community traditions — the 2026 Ocean Breeze Fall Festival, a festive day bringing families, friends and neighbors together to celebrate everything we love about fall! There will be family-friendly activities, interactive games, music, entertainment, community organizations, seasonal attractions and plenty of fall fun for all ages. 

November:  
Native American Heritage Month: Lenape Botany – Manhattan  

Sunday, November 1, 2026 | Vermont Place Parking Lot in Highland Park 

11:00 am – 1:00 pm  

Join the Urban Park Rangers on a hike through a restored natural area to find plants that the Lenape people have utilized since time immemorial. The hike will teach about the healing power of plants is thousands of years old, and many of these plants still grow in our parks 
 
Native American Heritage Month: Indigenous and Colonial Cooking – Brooklyn  

Sunday, November 8th | Washington Park 

12:00pm–1:30pm  

Join the Urban Park Rangers to explore cooking traditions in pre-colonial and colonial New York. Learn how Lenape, Dutch, and English foodways blended to form the city’s earliest culinary culture. Discover seasonal ingredients, observe historic cooking techniques, and examine the Indigenous roots of American food traditions.
