The 2026 Edition of the High Line’s Annual Free, Youth-Led Event Invites NYC Teens to Bust a Move at This 1990s-inspired Party
On Friday, May 29, 2026, from 4–8pm, young people ages 14 to 21 are invited to the High Line park in Manhattan to travel back in time for Teen Night: Victoriously Vintage, a 1990s time warp experience. Visitors are encouraged to throw on their freshest 90s-inspired outfits and join us for an evening of fun.
The free event, organized annually by teens, for teens, will feature games, art workshops, refreshments, karaoke, an open-mic segment, and a dance party. Thecovered event space on the High Line will showcase decor inspired by ‘90s-era graffiti art, style, and fashion.
Teen Night, created and presented by teenagers participating in the High Line Fellows: Emerging Leaders Program, is the program’s annual blowout festival event for teens. Young people from across all five boroughs are encouraged to attend.
“I want teens to leave Teen Night feeling lighter, like they can finally let go of stress and just be excited for an unforgettable summer. It’s a judgment-free space where you can really be yourself and show sides of your personality you might not always get to during the year,” said Charlize Longville, a second-year Fellow. “It’s all about hype, real connections, total freedom, good vibes, and making memories that will last a lifetime. As someone who experienced Teen Night last year, I must say the vibes were unmatched, and I know we will replicate it this year!”
“Each year, the High Line Fellows design Teen Night on the High Line with such joy and creativity to bring together young New Yorkers from across the city, and this year’s event is no different. I’m excited to see the ‘90s flair that the Fellows will adorn the park with for Victoriously Vintage,” said Tennille Dowers, Youth & Career Development Manager for the High Line Emerging Leaders Program. “Not only a celebratory event, Teen Night is also a showcase for the professional skillsets the Fellows in the Emerging Leaders Program have honed in the realms of event planning and cultivating a positive visitor experience.”
Visitors will enter and check into the event at the 14th Street entrance to the High Line, and continue on to the covered section of the park, located between 15th and 16th Streets in Manhattan. Visitors who check in at the event by 5:30pm to be entered into a raffle for a $100 Visa gift card. Each visitor will receive free snack vouchers for an array of delicious food vendors within the event space. All ages are welcome, though this is a teen-led event, with activities geared towards youth ages 14-21.
People interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance on Eventbrite. Day-of walk-ups are welcome, although there may be a wait if the event is at capacity. If there is inclement weather, the rain date for the event is June 3, 4–8pm.

About High Line Fellows: Emerging Leaders Program
The event is organized by the fellows in the High Line Fellows: Emerging Leaders Program. The High Line Fellows: Emerging Leaders Program is a paid opportunity for local youth, ages 15 to 18, focused on skills-building and leadership development through civic engagement, arts and culture, horticulture and sustainability, public programs, and strategic partnerships. For up to three years, Fellows gain professional skills and hands-on experience as critical practitioners while building connections with other teens in public spaces throughout the city.
Each year, all Fellows engage in critical leadership development activities, including designing a suite of public programs that explore the various themes, ideas, and practices present on the High Line. Public programs are always free and open to the public, and can range from small, creative workshops to large-scale public festival-style events. Fellows gain hands-on experience as they learn about program development and production, cross-departmental collaboration, and partnership with mission-aligned community organizations.

ABOUT THE HIGH LINE
The High Line is a public park on the West Side of Manhattan operated, maintained, and funded by the nonprofit conservancy Friends of the High Line. Through our work with communities on and off the High Line, Friends of the High Line is devoted to reimagining public spaces to create connected, healthy neighborhoods and cities.
Built on a historic, elevated rail line, the High Line was always intended to be more than a park. You can walk through the gardens, view art, experience a performance, enjoy food or beverage, or connect with friends and neighbors—all while enjoying a unique perspective of New York City.
Nearly 100% of our annual budget comes through donations. The High Line is owned by the City of New York, and we operate the park under a license agreement with NYC Parks.
