Building on a Successful Pilot, NYCEDC Expands Summer Programming to Deliver More Community– and-Culture Driven Programming at the Brooklyn Army Terminal
Programming Includes Performances, Markets, Screenings and Family-Friendly Events — Serving as a Vibrant Cultural Destination in Brooklyn and Welcoming New Yorkers from All five Boroughs
Milestone Aligns with NYCEDC’s 40th Anniversary Stewarding Sunset Park’s Historic Brooklyn Army Terminal
New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) unveiled the first slate of vibrant community, cultural and waterfront events taking place at the Brooklyn Army Terminal (BAT) throughout the summer. Beginning in May and running through October, NYCEDC will activate the 59‑acre, City‑owned industrial campus as a lively destination for New Yorkers of all ages, featuring live performances, outdoor film screenings, art displays, food and community markets, and family‑friendly programming. In addition to the first rollout of programming, NYCEDC—alongside event operator Indigo Enterprises—will add more than 10 additional free, community‑focused events and programming, to the series.
The summer series builds on NYCEDC’s 40 years of stewardship at BAT and reflects the continued evolution of the campus as both a working waterfront and a community‑centered public space. Building on the success of the Summer 2025 pilot series, NYCEDC is expanding its offerings to bring even more opportunities for the public to experience the historic campus, waterfront and open spaces. The pilot series brought over 7,000 guests to the BAT campus for free community outdoor programming and events.
Presented in partnership with local organizations, artists, and small businesses, Summer at the Terminal will spotlight the diversity, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit of Sunset Park and the wider Brooklyn community. Programming will take place primarily along BAT’s waterfront and Ferry Plaza, activating spaces that serve tenants, workers, residents, and visitors alike.
In the upcoming weeks, NYCEDC and Indigo Enterprises will be rolling out twelve additional free, community-focused events during Summer 2026. For the full list of events and updates, please visit: https://brooklynarmyterminal.com/events
