Highlights of February’s exams include: 

Occupational Therapist (DOE) – Accepting Applications Through 2/24

Occupational Therapists (DOE), under varying degrees of supervision, provide School-Based Occupational Therapy services to students with disabilities which may include an itinerant component, of which an assignment includes duties in more than one work location in a given day and/or week. Job duties include evaluating students to determine the need for Occupational Therapy, provision of inclusive services, developing therapeutic treatment plans, and incorporating individualized classroom routines, adapting the environment and modifying tasks to facilitate the students’ participation in school based activities including adapting the environment to foster a conducive atmosphere for learning and social participation, and utilizing computer systems in connection with assignment and documentation. All Occupational Therapists (DOE) perform related work.

Child and Family Specialist – Accepting Applications Through 2/24

Child and Family Specialists, under general supervision, in the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), work in child protection, family permanency, family support and community affairs; facilitate child safety and other family team conferences at critical case decision points; develop a safety plan for children assessed to be unsafe and at risk; assess the service needs and serve as a resource for children, families and providers; make recommendations for appropriate foster care system placement and services; and advocate best practices and decisions for children and families. All Child and Family Specialists perform related work.

Physical Therapist (DOE) – Accepting Applications Through 2/24 

Physical Therapists (DOE), under varying degrees of supervision, administer professional and responsible physical therapy services to students with disabilities which may include the utilization of computer systems as well as performing work closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans, incorporating various techniques and interventions to address specific conditions or injuries. These may include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and education on proper body mechanics and posture. Additionally, physical All Physical Therapists (DOE) perform related work.

Special Officer (NYC H+H) – Accepting Applications Through 2/26

Special Officers (NYC H+H), under supervision, perform Special Officer (NYC H+H) work of ordinary difficulty and responsibility relating to physical security, safety, loss prevention and maintenance of order. They patrol designated areas of public buildings, other facilities, and surrounding areas to maintain order, preserve the peace, and safeguard life and property against fire, vandalism, theft, etc.; discourage and eject loiterers and disorderly persons and when appropriate, arrest and issue summonses to law violators on premises; transport, escort and/or arrange for transport of persons in custody to police precincts and have arrests recorded in the appropriate police records; prepare and transmit all necessary documents relating to arrests. All Special Officers perform related work.
