Deno’s Wonder Wheel Park in Coney Island is celebrating the Halloween season and children’s books on Saturday, October 25, with free events in front of our Stop the Zombies Dark Ride Theater and at our Little Free Library and world-famous NYC landmark Deno’s Wonder Wheel.
 
Thriller NYC Dance Performance and Tutorial – 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM – in front of Deno’s Stop the Zombies Dark Ride Theater next to the Wonder Wheel
Learn to walk like a Zombie and amaze your friends on Halloween! Dancers from Thriller NYC, a group of New Yorkers who perform the Thriller dance annually in the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, will perform and teach step-by-step tutorials.
 
Free author event with Parachute Literary Arts – 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM. Brooklyn author Sherene Rance will be reading from her book, Aria’s Big Wish, at Deno’s Little Free Library adjacent to the Wonder Wheel. Kids ages 3-8 and kids at heart can come listen to Mermaid tales. All are welcome!
 
Visit our Little Free Library located inside the West 12th Street entrance to Deno’s Wonder Wheel. Open during park hours, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM  
We’re delighted to have a Little Free Library in Deno’s Wonder Wheel Park since 2023 thanks to a collaboration with Parachute Literary Arts. Our Wonder Library is a book-sharing box stocked with children’s books. Please stop by to take a book or leave a book during open hours!

Visit Deno’s Wonder Wheel for free spider rings for kids from 1:00 PM until supplies last. Librarians from the Coney Island Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library will take applications for library cards at Deno’s Wonder Wheel from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

Open from Palm Sunday through the end of October, Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park is currently open Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays through October 26, 2025. This month’s holidays are Sukkot (Oct 9-12), Italian Heritage Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day (Oct 13), and Diwali (Oct 20). Hours for October are Deno’s Kiddie Park 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
