Five Performances Labor Day Weekend at Historic Cathedral of St. John the Divine; Admission Is Free – First-come, First-seated

EMERGE125 Artistic Director Tiffany Rea-Fisher is thrilled to return to The Public Theater’s Public Works series to choreograph Shakespeare’s Pericles at the historic Cathedral of St. John the Divine from August 29 – September 2. Reconceived by playwright and songwriter Troy Anthony and directed by Classical Theatre of Harlem’s Carl Cofield, the production is a celebration of life, love, and transformation, inspired by gospel music and the rousing power of the Black church, and stars Denée Benton, Ato Blankson-Wood, Tony-winner Alex Newell, and many more. The performances take place inside Morningside Heights’ Cathedral of St. John the Divine, one of the world’s largest churches and a beautiful, fitting location for this production. EMERGE125 dancers will also be a part of the experience as one of the five cameo groups.

Admission is free with no tickets required – check here for more details about entry. Don’t miss your chance to see Tiffany Rea-Fisher’s choreography and E125 in this special Public Works production!

About EMERGE125

EMERGE125 is a Black female-led dance company that expands the reach and impact of dance through creation, performance, and education. Through a body of expressive, athletic modern dance work, EMERGE125 explores social dynamics and personal identity, illuminates and challenges systemic inequities, and inspires reflection and connection. We believe that dance can serve as a uniting force across differences in age, race, class, and more. EMERGE125 has been led by celebrated choreographer Tiffany Rea-Fisher since 2016. Based in Harlem, EMERGE125 has a strong education program, tours nationwide, and shares virtual content globally. By performing in traditional, multidisciplinary and non-arts spaces, as well as engaging in cross-disciplinary collaborations, we reach beyond traditional dance audiences—we attract audiences who like to be surprised, challenged, and in dialogue with art of all kinds. Our youth dance education programs—serving K-12 students as well as pre- and early-career professionals—cultivate these same values in the artists and audiences of the future.
