Velour says, โTen yearsโthis is history! And if we made it, anyone can. Determination and hard work have embedded NightGowns into the traditions of drag in New York Cityโฆor maybe even the world. When our art form and our people are being criminalized, erased, displaced, having that kind of longevity and legacyโor just knowing itโs possible to surviveโis a source of POWER. I am deeply honored to celebrate the audiences and artists who have made NightGowns into the platform and space that itโs become over the last decade, as we toast to the power of drag artists around the world.โ

First launched in August 2015 at Bizarre Bushwick (now closed) in Brooklyn, Sasha Velourโs NightGowns has grown into an internationally acclaimed drag performance revue. From the beginning, Velour created the all-inclusive show in the hopes of giving performers a space to bring their best and most daring work.

โOver the years, Velour and her team have cultivated an audience that comes ready to be surprised, which has in turn given a growing generation of queens not only the license but the space to experiment.โ Gay Times
Throughout its run, NightGowns has remained dedicated to combining performance art with grassroots activism. In the last three seasons alone, the show has raised over $80k for organizations that provide food, housing, and legal support to the LGBTQ community, immigrants, and for direct mutual aid to Gaza.
Sasha Velour has been a force in the drag scene long before her scene-stealing, rose-petal-filled win on season nine of โRuPaulโs Drag Race.โ As a modern-day pioneer of innovative, emotive, and provocative drag aesthetics, Velour continues to raise the bar for the art of drag performance across the globe. Sheโs currently touring her latest critically-acclaimed one-queen theatre piece, The Big Reveal Live Show which premiered to rave reviews in 2023 and has since performed in sold-out prestigious venues across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Most recently, The Big Reveal Live Show performed a two-week residency at the prestigious Berkeley Repertory Theatre (June 2025), and will play at Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago on August 1st.
Velourโs next highly-anticipated solo show, TRAVESTY will premiere in March 2026 with a three week run at Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington D.C. before touring Europe later that spring.
