Anti-Prom, The New York Public Library’s annual summer celebration that welcomes and celebrates young people of all sexualities and gender identities and expressions. This year, Anti-Prom will feature a special fashion show by student designers from the High School of Fashion Industries; a dance performance by teens in Aalokam; access to Treasures, the Library’s permanent exhibition showcasing items from our vast collections; as well as music, dancing, book giveaways, activities, and much more.
Anti-Prom, which The New York Public Library has been hosting for over 20 years, is one of our highest-profile events for young adults. The event, in addition to Teen Centers, Banned Book Club, and Teen Voices Magazine affirms the Library as a welcome space for everyone, including LGBTQ+ teens. Visit our webpage to learn more.
