Welcome Back to the Boardwalk in Coney Island for the heartwarming family tradition at Deno’s WONDER WHEEL Amusement Park; the opening of the 2025 season with the ribbon cutting BLESSING OF THE RIDES ceremony.

Pastor Mary Smith of Coney Island’s SALT & SEA Mission will lead the invocation.  The NYC Fire Department Ceremonial Unit will be presenting the nation’s and state’s colors to begin the Blessing Ceremony, and to perform the National Anthem.

Please join us for spectacular entertainment at the event including the amazing singer and Broadway star, Aneesa Folds, who can be heard as Cleon on the new Warriors Album by Lin Manuel Miranda.

Aneesa has recently appeared in “Freestyle Love Supreme” and will star this summer at the World Premier of “Co-Founders” at A.C.T San Francisco.

The entire Vourderis family, as owner/operators of Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park, is delighted to honor the memory of the family business founders, Denos and Lula Vourderis, who created this Opening Day “Blessing” tradition with the Mission founder, Debbie Santiago in 1985.
