Known for its vibrant blend of cultures, Queens offers a culinary landscape as diverse as its people. And on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, the flavors of the borough will again come alive at the Queens Centers for Progress’ 29th annual “Evening of Fine Food,” an event that celebrates community through cuisine and camaraderie.
More than 700 people are expected to come together at Terrace on the Park in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park to sample dishes from some of Queens’ finest restaurants and drink purveyors, as well as to support QCP’s mission. This year, QPTV Community Development Outreach Manager Roslyn Nieves will emcee the celebration.
Both longtime participants and newcomers alike are expected to sign up for what promises to be another signature dynamic event, complete with food and drink from the finest restaurants and beverage purveyors in the area, networking opportunities, and so much more.
The in-person benefit will raise funds to support QCP’s programs and services, assisting more than 1,200 individuals with developmental disabilities to lead more independent lives.
“Our Evening of Fine Food brings together the heart and flavors of Queens, showcasing dishes that reflect our community’s diversity during QCP’s 75th anniversary,” said QCP Executive Director Terri Ross. “Beyond the delicious food, it’s inspiring to know that every ticket purchased directly supports our programs, helping individuals with developmental disabilities pursue fuller, more independent lives. We’re proud to bring people together for a meaningful cause that strengthens our borough.”
At the event, QCP will honor “Chefs of the Year,” people who have made an impact and a difference in the community: Dr. Sharon B. DeVivo, EdD, President and CEO of Vaughn College), and Uzoamaka N. Okoye, Chief of Staff, The New Terminal One. In addition to being honored, the “Chefs” will serve their community differently – by cooking a family specialty!
QCP will also present the Claire Shulman “Spirit of Community” Award to Rachel Kellner, owner of Aigner Chocolates.
The event is at Terrace on the Park at 52-11 111th Street in Corona. Tickets are $150 per person. The event begins with a sponsor VIP reception at 5:30 PM, followed by general admission from 6:30 to 9:00 pm.
