Signature Free Series Explores Latest Trends and Best Practices in Sustainable Film Production

The NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) is pleased to launch an extended version of their signature virtual discussion series, “Office Hours,” part of the NYC Film Green Initiative. The series is produced monthly on Tuesday’s from 5:30-7pm beginning on November 19. The NYC Film Green Initiative, since its inception in 2016, has served to promote sustainable film production by offering a blueprint for decarbonization, waste management, and sourcing, as well as free resources. The “Office Hours” discussion series is virtual, free and open to the public and will cover topics essential to the craft of sustainable production.
In 2024, the “Office Hours” series will launch on Tuesday, November 19, 5:30-7pm with An Evening with Members from the Sustainable Entertainment Alliance (SEA). SEA is a consortium of some of the world’s leading studios, streamers, and industry leaders dedicated to furthering sustainable production initiatives, resources, and advocacy in the film and television industry. On Tuesday, December 10, Office Hours will explore best practices in Getting to Zero: Innovations in Waste Management.
In 2025, Office Hours series will delve into the following topics:
- Powering Our Sets Sustainably
- Producers’ Role in Driving Sustainable Production
- Reducing Fuel Usage
- Carbon Calculation: Scope 1, 2, and 3 for production
- Directing Sustainably
- Best Practices from Around the Globe
