- I Love My Park Dayย is onย Saturday, May 4, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Theย free eventย presents a perfect opportunity to prepare FDR Four Freedoms State Park for the start of the season by revitalizing the Banned Book Library, sprucing up seating and replenishing mulch.ย I Love My Park Day is the largest single-day volunteer event in the state of New York. By participating, you are not just giving back to your community but also making a significant impact on this stunning memorial honoring freedom and democracy.ย No experience is necessary. All tools and training will be provided.ย Online registration is suggested.ย Suggested ages 13+.
- Protect Freedom of Speech.ย The Four Freedoms Park Conservancy will showcase aย Banned Book Library, available for families to view fromย Sunday, May 5, to Friday, May 31. A uniqueย Banned Book Panelย moderated by Editorial Director and Publisher ofย The Nationย Katrina vanden Heuvelย will be held onย Thursday, May 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.ย This panel will delve into the complex issue of censorship and the importance of freedom of speech, a cause championed by President Franklin D.
