The legendary Bahian singer-songwriter Caetano Veloso  is one of the most important musicians in Brazilian popular music. Many consider him one of the best songwriters of the 20th century. He began his career in the 60s interpreting bossa nova songs and went on to be a leader of the counterculture’s Tropicália movement. An outspoken political activist, Veloso is a major musical, social, and cultural force in Brazil and an influential figure to musicians all over the world.  With over fifty albums available and collaborations in film soundtracks, including Pedro Almodovar’s Hable con Ella and Julie Taymor’s Frida, he has won 15 GRAMMY Awards including 13 Latin GRAMMYS. A towering figure in popular music around the globe, he returns to BAM with Meu Coco, his first album in nine years.
