A variety of programming welcomes community members to the Museum

The Brooklyn Museum announces its lineup of February programming, including the kickoff to 2024’s First Saturdays, a Teen Night inspired by Spike Lee: Creative Sources, and the return of the beloved Brooklyn Poetry Slam. Additional programs include classes, tours, and special events that amplify the Museum’s exhibitions and collections, serve the surrounding community, and support learning through the visual arts.

Museum Members enjoy complimentary or discounted tickets and early access to public programs.

Highlights of the full schedule are as follows:

Teen Night: Lights, Cameras, Crooklyn!
Friday, February 2, 5–7:30 pm
Pavilion, 1st Floor; Beaux-Arts Court, 3rd Floor
Free; registration is required.
Teens: kick off February with 2024’s first Teen Night, a teen-led program centered on art and activism! Inspired by Spike Lee: Creative Sources, this evening will feature artmaking, performances, and much more.

First Saturday: Brooklyn’s Gotta Have It
Saturday, February 3, 5–11 pm
Throughout the Museum
Free; registration is required and includes Museum general admission.
Ring in Black History Month and celebrate the closing of Spike Lee: Creative Sources with a lineup of artists honoring the exhibition’s themes of family and legacy.

Brooklyn Talks: Swizz Beatz
Wednesday, February 7, 7–9 pm
Auditorium, 3rd Floor
Tickets are $50 and include after-hours access to Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys.

Brooklyn Pop-Up Winter Artisans Market

Stop by our winter artisans market! Presented in partnership with Brooklyn Pop-Up, this monthly weekend market features local vendors offering one-of-a-kind, handmade artwork, jewelry, fashion, and home goods.

Artland Workshops: World Building
Saturdays, February 10, 17, and 24, 1–3 pm
Education Gallery, 1st Floor
Free with Museum admission.
Take a trip to Artland: An Installation by Do Ho Suh and Children, an enchanting ecosystem of color and clay, and discover how to create your own world. In these free, all-ages drop-in workshops, you’ll draw inspiration from the real world to imagine a new one.

Brooklyn Afternoons Online: Design for Living

Individuals with memory loss and their care partners are invited to a virtual, interactive exploration of ordinary objects transformed into works of art.

Brooklyn Reads: Ten Bridges I’ve Burnt with Brontez Purnell

Celebrate Brooklyn Poetry Slam’s tenth year! Amplify the voices of Brooklyn at a series of pay-what-you can slams, presented by poets and cofounders Mahogany L. Browne and DJ Jive Poetic.
