New Yorkers and visitors bid one final goodbye to any unpleasant, frustrating, and forgettable memories from 2023 at the 17th annual Good Riddance Day on Thursday, December 28, on the Broadway Plaza between 45th and 46th Streets. This year’s Good Riddance Day event offered participants the opportunity to make their unhappy memories from the past year flash away and disappear, allowing all to enter 2024 feeling lighter and with a fresh start.

Jonathan Bennett, co-host of the Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration, led the event that featured magician Devonte Rosero, who made participants’ bad memories of 2023 vanish into thin air. Paper was made available to the public to record the moments they want to say farewell to from the past year.

This year, the public was also invited to register at TSQ.org/GoodRiddanceDay. Participants at the event in person on December 28th had a chance to win a $224 Times Square Gift Card.

The Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment are the co-organizers of Times Square New Year’s Eve. For more information, please visit www.TSQ.org/NYE.
