Music, Cheer, and Merriment in One of NYC’s Most Picturesque Settings Along the East River
Sutton Place Parks Conservancy (SPPC) will stage its Third Annual Seasonal Singalong, on Saturday, December 16th, at 5:00 PM. Once again, the community will gather at the 57th Street Park (just east of Sutton Place), for an hour of traditional tunes, hot chocolate, and a light show, plus some special surprises.
The singalong will feature vocalists from the All Saints Church choir, as well as children from the Levy Choir School. Both groups are led by James Hopkins, who also serves as musical director of the entire event. Diverse song selections will appeal to participants of all ages.
“Whether or not you really want a White Christmas, come join your friends and neighbors for this annual treat”, said Karen Nielsen, Co-Chair of the SPPC Events Committee. “Listen for the Jingle Bells, and don’t expect a Silent Night while we play the Dreidel Song.”
Free Hot Chocolate—with all the fixings—will be provided by Crumbly Café and Bakery (991 First Avenue). And, SPPC is again staging a light show, building on the popularity of prior years. The entire event is free.
