The New-York Historical Society, the city’s first museum, is pleased to announce that the Oberon Group is opening a new restaurant, Clara, in its storied home on Central Park West this fall. Clara will offer lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch while the new Café 77 will serve coffee, pastries, breakfast, lunch, and grab-and-go snacks. Clara is named in honor of Clara Driscoll, the trailblazing woman responsible for designing many of the iconic Tiffany lamps on view in New-York Historical’s Gallery of Tiffany Lamps. Outdoor dining will be available for both venues. The Oberon Group’s distinguished division, Purslane, will run Café 77.

“With their passionate commitment to locally sourced food and sustainability, the Oberon Group and Purslane are wonderfully aligned with New-York Historical’s work on the environment’s impact on history,” said Dr. Louise Mirrer, president and CEO of New-York Historical. “We look forward to delighting visitors and diners with their culinary skills as well as sensitivity to our natural resources when the doors to Clara and Café 77 open this fall.”

“We’re thrilled that Oberon and Purslane have been chosen as the restaurant and café partners for the New-York Historical Society,” said Henry Rich, chief executive officer of the Oberon Group. “We admire and align with the educational and historic mission of the Museum, which carries on our track record of working in historic landmarks around New York City and upstate New York.”

New-York Historical retained JGL Consultants to manage the food service RFP process which ultimately led to the selection of Oberon/Purslane.
