I took Michael Musto to the opening of Little Ruby’s Cafe in West Village last night, I met Michael 10 years ago in exactly the same spot back then Riviera Cafe. My four years working at the Riviera Cafe from 2013 to 2017 flashed in a minute as soon as I entered the place, it brought me so many memories of the place and the staff who taught me how to work in Hospitality, I just have gratitude for the time I spent there, and to the Buchbinder Family, Mauricio, and Steve who opened their doors when I was in need, and I’ll be forever grateful.

The new place looks bright, vivid, and full of light, the new interior design and windows are beautiful, and they also have a coffee station on the main floor next to the open kitchen where you can see how they prepare the food. Downstairs where used to be Riviera’s sports bar are the bar and the dining room, I think the tables for two are a little bit small, but Michael and I managed to make it work and enjoy our delicious dinner. They have a big team of people including some good-looking Ozzies, and they did a fantastic job, we got there at 7 PM by the time we left the place was packed.

We started with the BURRATA with grape tomatoes, and slices of mango deliciously seasoned which definitely opened our appetite for the main course.

I was craving to eat a burger and fries, so I had a CLASSIC CHEESEBURGER( two 3oz beef patties, L.T.O., pickles, American cheese, special sauce on a potato bun), and FRIES WITH TRUFFLE AIOLI, it was juice and delicious. Michael had GRILLED SALMON( celery root puree, zucchini, peas, snap peas, mint), it was presented beautifully and he said it was delicious too.

For deserts, I had a CHOCOLATE CAKE with CAPPUCINO, and Michael had a STICKY DATE PUDDING and COFFEE.
