On August 6, Caramoor presents the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, led by maestro Roderick Cox, who has been praised as a conductor “paving the way” (NBC News), in a program featuring cellist, MacArthur Genius Grant winner, and Caramoor Evnin Rising Star alumna Alisa Weilerstein for Shostakovich’s complex and haunting First Cello Concerto. The program also features George T. Walker’s Lyric for Strings and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7. The afternoon concert includes a 3pm pre-concert conversation with Roderick Cox and Alisa Weilerstein.

Getting to Caramoor

Getting to Caramoor is simple by car or train. All parking is free and close to the performance areas. Accessible parking is also free and readily available. The Westchester estate is just one hour’s drive from Manhattan. For more information, please check the Getting to Caramoor page.

By train from Grand Central Station, take the Harlem Division Line of the Metro-North Railroad heading to Southeast, and exit at Katonah. Caramoor is a 3.5-mile drive from the Katonah station, where taxi service is always available. A FREE shuttle from Katonah station to and from Caramoor runs before and after every concert.
