Grammy®-winning singer-songwriter and performer Erykah Badu invites fans in upcoming cities on her “Unfollow Me” Tour on a live quest to find the forbidden fruits featured in her popular song, Appletree, and now the soundtrack for the new, first-ever animated short, “Badu’s Forbidden Fruits,” by Belgian visual artist Robin Velghe a.k.a. Rhymezlikedimez.
Badu and Rhymez, renowned for his high-end illustrated and animated art, will host a virtual screening and Q&A to launch the live hunt, as part of the release of Rhymez’s animated short which features a cameo of Badu’s caricature. Following the screening, the two creatives, known for redefining artistic boundaries, will discuss the inventive and imaginative video treatment of Badu’s song “Appletree” and the captivating plot of Puff, the cloud-shaped protagonist of several Rhymezlikedimez animations. In the video, Puff is continuously seeking infinite knowledge, which is represented by red and green apples that gleam with brilliance. Now, fans can participate in a real world quest by searching for the magical apples near landmarks in select cities along the route of her “Unfollow Me” Tour.
