Born Karen Jeanne in Crown Heights, Brooklyn to Grenadian parents, KJ’s life has been a symphony in the making. From picking up her brother’s discarded guitar at age 10 and teaching herself to play, KJ’s journey has been marked by tenacity, talent, and a deep love for music. Her diverse career spans four decades and includes ten albums, earning her widespread acclaim and seven Independent Music Awards. As a winning finalist in the Kerrville New Folk Song Contest, the Mountain Stage 

New Song Contest, and a grand prize finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, KJ has proven herself a potent force in the industry.Somethin’ Else is thrilled to host KJ Denhert and share her captivating music with our guests.
