North Fork Welcomes Coastal Cuisine Restaurant From The Owners of Montauk’s 668 The Gig Shack

Located on a remote beach on Long Island’s North Fork, Little Fish is excited to bring its Coastal Cuisine with bright colors, beach vibes, live music, and all around good times to the town’s locals and summer crowd. The restaurant, nestled in the wind and salt-swept dunes of the Long Island Sound at Kenney’s Beach, hosted a sneak-peak for friends and family to test Chef Ryan’s menu last fall and is slated to officially open this April 2023.

The completely renovated space that once belonged to Elbow East, now will offer guests an open, airy and naturally lit space that ties elements of the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and the coastal Northeast. Owner, Arden Gardell, combined his passion for life and seafood and his 20+ years in the restaurant industry to create a beach atmosphere and vibe that translates into a friendly, inviting and casual environment.

“Little Fish is a place where you can meet your friends for a drink, to enjoy live music and get an excellent bite of food,” said owner Arden Gardell. “You want to come to Little Fish to escape the hustle and bustle of dining in downtown Greenport. Despite all the hurdles, Little Fish coming to Kenney’s Beach has been a dream come true. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome guests into our beach oasis”

Multi-talented North Fork local, chef and DJ, Chef Ryan Barth-Dwyer, joins the Little Fish team from Greenport’s beloved Kontiki and Gallery Cafe. Ryan’s love for cooking began at an early age in the kitchen with his mother and most of his culinary inspiration comes from Turkish cuisine. With sustainability and fresh ingredients at the forefront, Chef Ryan utilizes the bounty of the North Fork in all of his dishes. Signature dishes on his menu will include Fritto Misto della Casa, more than just local calamari, the Little Fish version pops with a rotating selection of local seafood, vegetables and herbs. Topped with inspired dips like Chef Ryan’s garlic tarator sauce. The Green Goddess Crab features blue crab, local lettuce, avocado, heart  of palm and green goddess dressing. Hot Honey Jerk Ribs, Nashville and Montego bay come together in this sweet & spicy take on tender baby back ribs. Slow-cooked and glazed for pure deliciousness that falls from the bone. Plus, the menu will feature a curated “to-go” menu designed for visitors to enjoy on Kenney’s and McCabe’s beach. Those who are fans of 668 The Gig Shack will also be able to indulge in its classics like the Tuna Taquitos and Caesar Salad at Little Fish.

Little Fish will allow North Fork locals and summer visitors to experience flavorful coastal dishes in a unique and comfortable atmosphere. Little Fish is located at 50 N Sea Drive, Southold, NY 11971 and will be serving lunch 12PM – 5PM and dinner 5PM – 9PM Thursday – Sunday in the spring. Summer hours are to be determined.
