We are the only animal that is “heartbroken”
Sometimes in one fell swoop, other times in a bunch of little ways, over and over again.
We continue to live with our beautiful scars, disguising the pain as “learning and growing” when in reality it is what it is, pain.
Over time our heart begins to beat again, we toast to absences, we get used to it, some of us heal and without realizing it we fall in love, we laugh, we remember and again we are filled with color.
Transplanted hearts, colored hearts.
