CHELSEA TABLE + STAGE – the New York newest hotspot for intimate dining and extraordinary music – will present “Barbra & Liza Live!,” starring Steven Brinberg (“Simply Barbra”) and Rick Skye (“A Slice O’Minnelli”), on Monday, November 21 at 7:00 PM. After sell-out shows in London and Dublin, Brinberg and Skye are celebrating these two icons together for the first time in New York. With musical director Yasuhiko Fukuoka, the pair will perform the Broadway and movie hits of these incandescent stars in an unmissable night of music and comedy. Steven Brinberg updates “Simply Barbra” annually as the show travels the globe. The first show began in Brinberg’s native New York where it ran for three years and has since played across the US, in London’s West End, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sydney, Melbourne, Barcelona, Bangkok, Puerto Vallarta, and Toronto (more cities than the real Barbra). Steven spent 11 years touring with Marvin Hamlisch and his symphony orchestra as a special guest star. Stephen Sondheim requested his appearance at his birthday concert at the Library of Congress. Terrence McNally wrote narration for him to read as Barbra at a concert at Lincoln Center. He has also performed at special events for such notables as Donna Karan, Joan Rivers, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Liza Minnelli. “Simply Barbra” has earned two MAC Awards, a Bistro Award and was nominated for a Robby Award for theatre and cabaret in Los Angeles. Brinberg has released two albums, Simply Barbra: Live in London, and Simply Barbra: The Duet Album, featuring Kaye Ballard, Mimi Hines, Debbie Gravitte, Karen Mason, and many others. 

Rick Skye is a multi-award-winning performer, who has written and performed in a string of outrageous comic revues including “The Flip Side of Neil Sedaka” (Bistro Award), “MaCabaret – A Tabloid Fable,” “The War of the Mama Roses,” “It’s Madame with an E” (performed with his indefatigable co-star, the one and only Madame), “Barbra and Liza Live!” (Leicester Theater and Dublin Theatre Festival), “Judy and Liza Together Again” (MAC Award, “Best Duo”), the international hit “A Slice O’ Minnelli” (MAC Award, “Best Impersonation”), which has enjoyed successful seasons at The Edinburgh Festival, at the Apollo Theatre in London’s West End and at the Dublin Theatre Festival, where he was awarded “Best Achievement in Performance” and “Liza Live!” (MAC Award, “Best Impersonation” and the BroadwayWorld Cabaret Award). He was in the film The Big Gay Musical and is featured in Frank DeCaro’s book Drag! Under the Big Wigs of Show Business. He plays Kenny Canasta in “City and The Beast,” a new comedy on Amazon Prime.

In a joyous celebration of life, the band plays traditional Cuban music with cross-cultural world fusion and Latin jazz influences. Colette is a New York City-based flutist, bandleader, and producer. A first generation American, New Yorker of Egyptian-Syrian heritage, her ancestry and extensive travels, as well as growing up in NYC have informed and contributed to her cross-cultural influences. Since the late 1970’s, Colette’s been performing locally and internationally. She’s produced four albums as a bandleader. Her intention is to inspire, to move people to feel, to reflect, to come together and celebrate life. The show features Colette Michaan on flute, Manual Valera on piano, Jorge Bringas on bass, and Ismel Wignall on percussion.

Her latest release, New Sounds From the Jazz Age, recorded in a “live” setting, is a uniquely beautiful and provocative new sound on the songbook classics we know and love. The album celebrates Ms. Thomas’ ability to vocalize on racing tempos, effortlessly pivot between styles and key changes, and dig deep into the rich complexities of Ellington, Porter, and Gershwin. The album features Russell Malone on guitar, John Colianni on piano, Jay Leonhart on bass, Felix Peikli on clarinet, and Bernard Linnette on drums.

Lance Lopez has scaled to the top of the mountain of blues rock guitar heavyweights. His impassioned vocals and smoky, soulful tenor deliver every song with a no-holds-barred approach to honesty and truth. On the path to securing his place in a long line of great Texas bluesmen, Lopez began his professional career at the age of 14, playing the bars and clubs around New Orleans and along the Gulf Coast. Soul legend Johnny Taylor hired Lance to join his band, quickly building his reputation as an up-and-coming blues phenom. Lance celebrated his 18th year by becoming Lucky Peterson’s band leader, which led to his joining the Buddy Miles Express. Lopez has performed and toured with legendary icons such as B.B. King, Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, and Johnny Winter. Now based in Nashville, Lopez currently tours with a power trio of four-piece band and has just completed a new album on Cleopatra Records, set to be released in 2023.

Julia Van Cartier has been busy getting ready for the holidays and brings to you an all-new special Christmas cabaret. Hop in her sleigh and come along with Julia and her band for the most entertaining evening full of all the songs, Holiday and otherwise, that you forgot that you loved! She takes the audience on a wonderful escape through the exciting and glamorous tale of her journey to the North Pole to meet Santa. Julia is joined by guest star from “Canadian Idol,” Tetiana Maria, and her drag sister, Ruby Powers.  Van Cartier has been performing in heels for 22 years. Phoenix, Chicago, Madrid, Disney World, Celebrity Cruise Line and New York are some of the places you will have seen her perform. Julia was voted “New York’s Next Top Drag Queen (All Star’s Edition)” in 2018.
