Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (LCPA) and the New York Philharmonic announce the lineup for Open House Weekend—a free weekend-long celebration for all with more than 40 events at the new David Geffen Hall on October 29 and 30.

Highlights include a participatory performance by Choir! Choir! Choir! with special guest Kermit the Frog, plus live performances by artists and ensembles across genres, including the aerial dance company BANDALOOPBrian Stokes MitchellSoul Science Labthe Juilliard Orchestra with members of the New York Philharmonic conducted by Anna Handler and David Robertson, and more.

On Sunday, families can enjoy of day of programming geared towards children and young adults featuring activities like crafting your own Halloween story and learning new dance moves with music and activities celebrating cultures around the globe.

The Open House Weekend is FREE and first-come, first-served. Visitors are welcome to stay all day or stop by throughout the day.

About the Reimagination of David Geffen Hall

Opening in October 2022, the new David Geffen Hall improves the entire concert-going experience, creating the state-of-the-art Wu Tsai Theater to serve as the home of the New York Philharmonic and accommodating anticipated artists and audiences of the future. The project brings online tens of thousands of square feet of new public space for diverse cultural uses, including performance and community. It is supporting 6,000 jobs and $600 million in economic activity and has exceeded its inclusion benchmarks with 42 percent construction participation by minority- and women- owned businesses and averaging 52 percent of the workforce from underrepresented communities.

The David Geffen Hall design team includes Diamond Schmitt Architects, led by Gary McCluskie, on the Wu Tsai Theater; Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects¦Partners, led by Tod Williams and Billie Tsien, on all of the public spaces; acoustician Paul Scarbrough of Akustiks; and theater designer Joshua Dachs of Fisher Dachs Associates.

Chef Kwame Onwuachi, a native New Yorker from the Bronx and visionary chef, is putting his signature stamp on the restaurant at David Geffen Hall, which he has named Tatiana, and will explore Afro-Caribbean flavors.

Turner Construction Company is serving as construction manager and the firms Kohler Ronan and Thornton Tomasetti are providing engineering services. More details can be found at www.davidgeffenhall.info.
