Beautiful Hueman. Shaunt’e Lewis
Did you know that the top 18 museums in the US have collections that are 87% male and 85% white? That art by women sells for 50% less than men’s? That women make up only 16% of the NFT art market and 5% of NFT sales?
To change the ratio and empower emerging female NFT creators, Voice, the digital art marketplace, partnered with Women Rise, an NFT collection from Maliha Abidi that represents women from around the world, to create a new artist Residency Program to support women creators.
The program, Voice x Women Rise, is dedicated to supporting women creators from underrepresented and marginalized communities. As a Resident, creators will transform a body of work into an NFT collection that will cover themes that connect each creator to the world’s most pertinent topics: equity & justice, identity, future-proof, and well-being.
Resident collections are dropping all month long and include works from: Adaeze Okaro, Senaida Ng, Chigo Artish, Kavl Hassan, Barbara Minishi, Sherie Margaret Ngigi, Shaunt’e Lewis, Nneka Iwunna Ezemezue, Safiya Adam, Súa Agapé, Yahdiogo Agbo, Kemi Awoyemi, Adaeze Chukwu, and Neta.
