Stop No.3 of 4 on the 2021 Challenger Series, the Quiksilver and ROXY Pro France have been put on hold, a lay day has been called in Southwest France.

“The surf is completely unruly this morning,” Travis Logie, Senior Manager, Tours & Competition said. “The forecast was pretty obvious but there’s always a chance here that the swell or winds don’t do exactly what they’re supposed to so we wanted to see for ourselves. The forecast improves a little bit for Friday so we’re hoping to get back underway tomorrow.”

After a massive day of competition yesterday, the fields have reduced considerably at the Quiksilver and ROXY Pro France.

While the ROXY Pro France has already decided its Quarterfinalists, the Quiksilver Pro France still has 24 surfers vying for the precious rankings points towards qualification for the 2022 Championship Tour.

When competition resumes, the Quiksilver Pro France Round of 24 is likely to be first out in the lineup, with Alex Ribeiro (BRA), Beyrick De Vries (ZAF) and Callum Robson (AUS) battling it out in Heat 1.

The next call will be at 8:15 a.m (CET) on Friday.

The 2021 Quiksilver and ROXY Pro France will unfold from October 16-24, 2021, at Capbreton / Hossegor / Seignosse, Landes, Nouvelle-Aquitaine – France. For all results, photos, video highlights and press releases, log on to worldsurfleague.com
