Finals day of the US Open of Surfing Huntington Beach presented by Shiseido, opening stop of the World Surf League (WSL) Challenger Series (CS) event, has been called ON for an 8:05am PDT start. Men’s Quarterfinals take to the water ahead of women’s Semifinals matchups as two event victors await to be crowned by day’s end.
A clash between event standout Jake Marshall (USA) and Round 4 breakout Callum Robson (AUS) starts finals day action before Championship Tour (CT) veteran Kolohe Andino (USA) takes on an in-form Nolan Rapoza (USA) in Quarterfinal Heat 2.
Quarterfinal Heat 3 witnesses a 2019 US Open Semifinal rematch between two former US Open runner-ups Liam O’Brien (AUS) and Griffin Colapinto (USA). Finally, Kanoa Igarashi begins for his search of a historic third US Open title starting with Lucas Silveira (BRA) in Quarterfinal Heat 4.
Women’s Semifinal duels will see a generational battle in each heat with former CT competitor Coco Ho (HAW) taking on the rising Kauai, Hawaii, talent Gabriela Bryan in Semifinal Heat 1 before 15-year-old Caitlin Simmers(USA) takes on fellow Californian, two-time US Open victor and CT veteran,Courtney Conlogue.
