Finals Day is ON at the Corona Open Mexico presented by Quiksilver, the seventh stop on the World Surf League (WSL) 2021 Championship Tour (CT). The final eight competitors will battle in four-to-seven-foot waves, starting at 8:35 a.m. CDT. Up first will be the men’s and women’s Semifinals, followed by the men’s and women’s Finals.

The men’s event will see a first-time event winner as the remaining surfers in the draw have never won a CT event before.

Up first this morning will be Deivid Silva (BRA) against Leonardo Fioravanti (ITA). In a major upset yesterday, World No. 27 Silva took down current World No. 1 Gabriel Medina (BRA) in the Quarterfinals, to book his first-ever Semifinals appearance in a CT event. Now Silva will look to take down Fioravanti to advance to the Finals.

Four-time WSL Champion Carissa Moore (HAW) is against seven-time WSL Champion Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) in Semifinal 2 today. Gilmore needs a win here in Mexico in order to improve her positioning within the WSL Final 5.
