The Rip Curl Narrabeen Classic presented by Corona, is ON starting at 7:05 a.m. AEST today in two-to-three foot, clean off-shore conditions. Menโs Elimination Round 2 will be up first, followed by womenโs Elimination Round 2 and the menโs Round of 32.
โAs expected, the south swell from yesterday has dropped off a bit,โ said WSL SVP of Tours and Head of Competition, Jessi Miley-Dyer. โWe still have some decent waves left over from that south swell, plus some waves from the east, meaning there is plenty of opportunity for competitors. Weโre also expecting light winds to keep the surf clean like yesterday all day, so with that in mind weโre aiming for another big day of competition starting with the menโs Elimination Round at 7:05 a.m. local time, followed by the womenโs Elimination Round then the menโs Round of 32.โ
Three-time World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS) will be up first today in the menโs Elimination Round. He will be against Jeremy Flores (FRA) and Connor OโLeary (AUS). This event marks Fanningโs return to a CT jersey since his retirement in 2018.
The opening heat of the womenโs Elimination Round will see local wildcard Laura Enever (AUS) taking on Tatiana Weston-Webb (BRA) and two-time WSL Champion Tyler Wright (AUS) as all three competitors look to avoid an equal 33rd result at Narrabeen.
