Universo, the fastest growing Spanish-language entertainment cable network, is set to close out 2020 as the #1 Spanish-language cable network in weekday primetime and total day among total viewers, posting overall growth of 80% in primetime and 49% in total day vs. the previous year.  This year, the network has also been the fastest growing Spanish-language cable network in Monday-Sunday primetime and total day among adults 18-49, posting impressive growth of 35% in primetime and 20% in total day within the demo, as well as achieving 41% growth in total day among total viewers.

Over the course of the year, Universo has continued to offer viewers compelling entertainment and sports programming, with new show premieres and new seasons of fan favorites.  A few of the programs contributing to the network’s unprecedented growth this year include:

  • Caso Cerrado, the leading court show in Spanish-language television led by Dr. Ana Maria Polo which features legal battles relevant to the Hispanic community, increased its performance by +28% year to date this year among Adults 18-49 when compared to 2019. 
  • The latest season of ¿Quién da Más?, which features groups of bidders looking to strike it rich by buying repossessed storage units, saw strong increase in viewers resulting in a 63% advantage over its closest competitor in its Tuesday 9pm timeslot among Adults 18-49.
  • El Precio de la Historia, which recently premiered Season 3, has been showing a +31% increase in viewership among Adults 18-49, when compared to Season 2.  The show showcases a family-run pawnshop in Las Vegas, where generations of the Harrison family use their sharp-eyed skills to assess what’s real and what’s fake.
