High school students in grades 9–12

Teen Open Studio returns virtually this fall! Teens are invited to a free art-making program on Zoom with Whitney educators. Each week, teens will experiment, create, and learn together with at-home art materials inspired by the Whitney’s collection. Tell a friend and join us!

This week’s activity is Layered 2020, inspired by Making Knowing: Craft in Art, 1950–2019. Teens will learn about Robert Rauschenberg’s concept of “combine paintings” and will create their own layered works of art using materials and symbols from 2020.

No previous art experience is required—everyone is welcome. Registration is required.
