Induction: Supporting Teachers After Graduation

Residents of the Museum’s MAT ESR Program are supported throughout their time in the program and after.

Earth Science Residents are provided a full scholarship to cover tuition, a $30,000 stipend for living expenses, and additional financial supports including free textbooks, certification exams, and a program laptop while in the 15-month program. Upon graduation we also provide a supportive space for you to grow as a teacher and as a member of the Museum’s community.

During the first two years of teaching after graduation, Resident alums are invited to participate in Induction to support their professional development.

 Induction consists of:

  • Paid opportunities allow you to stay connected with your cohort and the Museum community
  • Monthly meetups of your cohort on-site at Museum
  • Regular Professional Development opportunities around New York City
  • Visits to your classroom by Induction faculty

Induction events are formal, early-career professional development and support focused on classroom management and curriculum development. Meetups can focus on topics as varied as classroom management solutions, creating new lesson plans, or how to set up an amazing lab space for your students.

The application for the Class of 2022 is available now and closes on February 15, 2021. Start your application today!
