On the occasion of his new exhibition at the Whitney, Salman Toor will join fellow artist Chitra Ganesh for a conversation about how they each use speculative storytelling and the mining of archival sources to center queer, Brown, and immigrant experiences.
They’ll also discuss the growing visibility of South Asians in mainstream culture against the backdrop of gentrification in NYC and post-9/11 surveillance. Curatorial assistant Ambika Trasi, who co-organized Salman Toor: How Will I Know, will moderate the discussion.
