We invite you and your students to join us for a 40-minute interactive lesson that explores works of art from the Whitney’s collection and current exhibitions. On view through January 2021, Vida Americana: Mexican Muralists Remake American Art, 1925–1945 reveals the profound impact Mexican muralists had on their United States counterparts. With nearly 200 works by over sixty Mexican and American artists, this exhibition showcases epic narratives about American history and everyday life and shows how art was used to protest economic, social and racial injustices. Using close-looking and discussion-based activities students explore American art while learning from artists and each other.

Whitney educators can accommodate your class’ needs and curricular interests, and lessons can be offered in Spanish. NYC Public Schools can participate free of charge, and all other schools can join with a fee of $150 per class. To book a lesson, fill out the form here.

In addition to our School Program offerings, we have exciting programs planned for families and teens this month! See below for event details.

We hope to see you virtually soon!
