The voters have spoken: Joe Biden will be next president of the United States.
And now it’s time to get to work. We’ve lost a lot of ground in achieving our mission of ending extreme poverty because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
COVID-19 has ravaged the progress being made to achieve the Global Goals and has increased existing inequalities around the world, including in the US. Globally, 150M people will be pushed back into poverty.
This is why Global Citizen is now campaigning for a recovery plan that will let people and the planet recover better together.
There are five key things we must achieve immediately:
- End the pandemic
- Stop the hunger crisis
- Get children learning again
- Reboot climate action
- Ensure equity in recovery efforts
As you can see, we have a lot of work to do. As US and global poverty levels soar, Global Citizen looks forward to working constructively with the Biden administration to make critical progress in the fight to end extreme poverty. Learn more about how we can work together to help the world recover better, together.
Thanks for all that you do,
