On October 23rd, 2020, Giulio Brini, Outlet Worldwide Director, met the students of the Master in Luxury Business at Polimoda during a virtual session hosted at Villa Favard in Florence. The lesson focused on “Open-to-Buy”, the methodology and strategies to define the amount of inventories each store must allocate to satisfy customers’ demand while maintaining a positive cash flow and margins. During his speech, Giulio Brini underlined the importance of the product life cycle and the necessity of respecting the right balance between new products and carry-over items, the value of the average price and the need to an adequate mix of different categories, to meet trends but also to satisfy, at the same time, a wide range of customers’ requests.
