Highlights of April’s exams include: 

Chemical Engineering Intern – Accepting Applications Through 4/21

Chemical Engineering Interns, under direct supervision, perform elementary chemical engineering work in the field, office or laboratory and receive training in engineering work of moderate difficulty and responsibility on the Assistant Chemical Engineer level. The work and training may be in one or more of the following engineering areas: development, design, construction, inspection, operations, maintenance, etc., including associated reports and correspondence. Chemical Engineering Interns may drive motor vehicles in the performance of assigned duties. All Chemical Engineering Interns perform related work.

Environmental Engineering Intern – Accepting Applications Through 4/21

Environmental Engineering Interns, under direct supervision, perform elementary environmental and/or fire protection engineering work in the field, office or laboratory and receive training in engineering work of moderate difficulty and responsibility on the Assistant Environmental Engineer level. The work and training may be in one or more of the following engineering areas: development, design, drafting, specifications, estimating, construction, inspection, operations, maintenance, including associated reports and correspondence; may operate a motor vehicle in the performance of assigned duties. All Environmental Engineering Interns perform related work.

Mechanical Engineering Intern – Accepting Applications Through 4/21 

Mechanical Engineering Interns, under direct supervision, perform elementary mechanical engineering work in the field, office or laboratory and receive training in engineering work of moderate difficulty and responsibility on the Assistant Mechanical Engineer level. The work and training may be in one or more of the following engineering areas: development, design, construction, inspection, operations, maintenance, etc., including associated reports and correspondence. Mechanical Engineering Interns may drive motor vehicles in the performance of assigned duties. All Mechanical Engineering Interns perform related work.

Auto Mechanic – Accepting Applications Through 4/21 

Auto Mechanics, under supervision, overhaul, repair and maintain engines, motors and motor-powered equipment, component assemblies, and component systems used in automotive, construction and special purpose equipment powered by internal combustion engines. They act as “troubleshooters” in determining mechanical and electrical defects; overhaul, maintain and repair internal combustion engines, motors and motor-powered equipment, including brake systems, transmissions, ignition systems, rear ends, differential assemblies, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, electronic systems, and other related components and systems. All Auto Mechanics perform related work.  

Auto Mechanic (CUNY) – Accepting Applications Through 4/21

For the City University of New York (CUNY) only. Auto Mechanics (CUNY), under supervision, overhaul, repair and maintain engines and component assemblies used in automotive and construction activities and all other equipment powered by internal combustion engines. They act as “troubleshooters” in determining mechanical and electrical problems through the use of diagnostic equipment as necessary; make minor repairs and adjustments in the field so that a vehicle may be returned to the garage or repair shop under its own power. All Auto Mechanics (CUNY) perform related work.
