The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in the transit system with crews placing green shamrock-shaped decals at the Grand Central-42 St 456 station. Customer Service Agents also handed out stickers to riders at the Grand Central-42 St and 59 St456 stations, and the 68 St–Hunter College 6 station, March 17.
Both Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad added trains for the parade; details can be found here.
Special messaging encouraging parade goers to take mass transit to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade can be seen on digital signage.
New York City’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade was held on Tuesday, March 17, at 11:00 a.m. The MTA was the safest and most reliable way to get to Manhattan. Grand Central Terminal, serving Metro-North Railroad and NYC Transit subway below it, and the Long Island Rail Road at Grand Central Madison, all leave riders in the city.
