Highlights of March’s exams include: 

Custodian Engineer (BOE) – Accepting Applications Through 3/24

Custodian Engineers (BOE) supervise, plan and are responsible for the work of the custodial and maintenance staff; heat building by means of low pressure boilers; make minor repairs to steam plant, heating equipment, electrical equipment, plumbing, structure, glazing and furniture; supervise cleaning of the building and grounds; maintain the building and grounds in a safe, secure and sanitary condition; conduct inspections of building to determine needed repairs; consult with and advise officials on problems of operation, maintenance and repairs; and set up custodial work schedules to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum interference with classroom activities. All Custodian Engineers (BOE) perform related work.

Stationary Engineer (Electric) – Accepting Applications Through 3/24 

Stationary Engineers (Electric), under general supervision, operate, inspect, maintain, and adjust high and/or low voltage electrically powered plant equipment including diesel engines. They operate, inspect, maintain, repair, test and adjust equipment such as: generators, pumps, transformers, electric motors, bearings, switchboards, controllers, compressors, meters, gauges, valves, fittings, heating apparatus, converters, rectifiers, controls, circuit breakers, etc; operate dual and tri-fuel engines, generators, pumps, blowers, high tension switchboards and electrical equipment (permanent and portable); oil, clean, and make minor repairs to this equipment. All Stationary Engineers (Electric) perform related work.

Chemical Engineering Intern – Accepting Applications Through 4/21

Chemical Engineering Interns, under direct supervision, perform elementary chemical engineering work in the field, office or laboratory and receive training in engineering work of moderate difficulty and responsibility on the Assistant Chemical Engineer level. The work and training may be in one or more of the following engineering areas: development, design, construction, inspection, operations, maintenance, etc., including associated reports and correspondence. Chemical Engineering Interns may drive motor vehicles in the performance of assigned duties. All Chemical Engineering Interns perform related work.

Environmental Engineering Intern – Accepting Applications Through 4/21

Environmental Engineering Interns, under direct supervision, perform elementary environmental and/or fire protection engineering work in the field, office or laboratory and receive training in engineering work of moderate difficulty and responsibility on the Assistant Environmental Engineer level. The work and training may be in one or more of the following engineering areas: development, design, drafting, specifications, estimating, construction, inspection, operations, maintenance, including associated reports and correspondence; may operate a motor vehicle in the performance of assigned duties. All Environmental Engineering Interns perform related work.

Civil Engineering Intern – Accepting Applications Through 4/21 

Civil Engineering Interns, under direct supervision of Managers or Civil Engineers, perform elementary civil engineering work in the field, office, or laboratory, and receive training in civil engineering work of moderate difficulty and responsibility on the Assistant Civil Engineer level. The work and training may be in one or more of the following engineering areas: scope development, design, drafting, specifications, estimating, scheduling, construction, inspection, operations, maintenance. Civil Engineering Interns may prepare associated reports and correspondence and maintain records; and may drive a motor vehicle in the performance of assigned duties. All Civil Engineering Interns perform related work.
