Punk Rock Mini Golf is back for its third year at Maker Park, from June 2-4 & June 10-11 with their 9-hole mini golf course, produced by community streaming radio station MakerParkRadio.nyc. Each golf hole features artwork contributed by Staten Island artists, with bands like X-Ray Specks, The Cramps, Decendents, and The Ramones are represented throughout the course. Each event features mini-golf all day long, as well as bands in the evening.
Events are all ages, with free entry for kids 10 and under. A $10 entry fee gets you in to see the bands and play unlimited rounds of mini-golf. No experience necessary! At the Sunday, June 4 event, between 3-5pm, you can join a tournament with a team of two at $20 per person. It works like a 50/50 with half of the pot goes to the winner, and the other half goes to support the nonprofit Maker Park Radio!
Food vendors Bearded Barbecue, The Burrito Bar and Ronnie’s Sandwich Shop as well as Flagship Brewery and Killsboro Brewery will have refreshments to purchase.
Maker Park Radio founder Kristin Wallace says “I love seeing families with kids of varied ages walking in looking skeptical, and walk out with big smiles on their faces.” Tom Ferrie, art director for the project, says “Even if you don’t know the history of punk rock, this event is always a blast. There are so many great bands this year to check out!”
