Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that landmarks statewide will be lit red, white and blue on Sunday July 4 in honor of Independence Day. Additionally, Governor Cuomo issued an Independence Day proclamation.

“If the last 16 months has reaffirmed anything, it’s how precious life is and how vital liberty is to our identity as New Yorkers and Americans,” Governor Cuomo said. “As we gather with friends and family this Independence Day, let us take time to reflect on and honor the brave men and women who fought to protect our freedoms over the years. I wish a safe and happy Independence Day to all New Yorkers.”

Landmarks to be lit include:

  • One World Trade Center
  • Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge
  • Kosciuszko Bridge
  • The H. Carl McCall SUNY Building
  • State Education Building
  • Alfred E. Smith State Office Building
  • State Fairgrounds – Main Gate & Expo Center
  • Niagara Falls
  • The “Franklin D. Roosevelt” Mid-Hudson Bridge
  • Grand Central Terminal – Pershing Square Viaduct
  • Albany International Airport Gateway
  • The Lake Placid Olympic Jumping Complex
  • MTA LIRR – East End Gateway at Penn Station
