Bodyboarding US Extends Shred The Web Contest Submission Deadline.

Bodyboarding US has announced that they are extending the competition window for the Shred The Web online video contest. Due to a lackluster early season of swell across the eligible regions, event organizers felt it would be best to lengthen the time period available to the competitors. Now that the winter surf season has begun to kick into gear, there should be ample opportunities for participating riders to chase swell and capture their best waves on video. The new submission deadline is March 7th, 2021.

The criteria for this event remains the same, with the field of competition open to riders from the US mainland, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico as well as participants from the 2019 Ocean Beach Festival (held in San Diego, CA). Video submissions for Men’s, Women’s, Drop Knee, and Masters divisions will battle it out for the $2000 USD prize purse. A fifth division, Tandem For Fun, will vie for a tandem bodyboard from event sponsor Tandem Boogie along with other prizes. All registered competitors will receive a Shred The Web contest t-shirt and a “Swell Chaser” bumper sticker.

Following the conclusion of the extended submission window, a panel of APB North America judges will narrow the field down, and reveal the top eight videos in each division. From there, these quarter-finalists will be opened up to popular vote on Instagram. Final results will be announced on March 29th.

The Bodyboarding US Shred The Web Contest is presented by Tandem Boogie and sponsored by Sticky Channels, Hubboards, Toobs Bodyboards, and Route 99 Hawaii and has also the technical Support from APB North America.
